How to find the promo code field at checkout and what to do when a code will not apply.
Where to enter your code
The promo field is not shown by default, so it is easy to miss. It lives on the configure step of checkout, the page where you pick your plan and options.
- Start your order and get to the configure step for the plan you want.
- Look for a small link that says "Have a promo code?" near the pricing.
- Click it and the field will expand.
- Type or paste your code exactly as it was given to you.
- Apply it, then check that the discount shows in the order summary before you pay.
That last step matters. If the summary total has not changed, the code has not actually been applied yet.
Troubleshooting
If a code will not apply, it is almost always one of these:
- Expired. Promo codes usually have an end date and stop working after it.
- Wrong product or plan. Some codes only work on a specific game, plan or billing cycle. A Rust code may not work on a Minecraft plan, for example.
- Already used. Many codes are one use per customer, so if you have redeemed it before it will not apply again.
- Minimum not met. Some codes need a minimum order value or a longer billing term before they kick in.
- A typo. Codes are often case sensitive and can mix letters and numbers. Paste it rather than typing where you can, and watch for stray spaces at the start or end.
If you have checked all of that and it still will not go through, do not pay full price and hope for a refund later. Grab a screenshot of the checkout page and the code, and reach out first.
