What ARK maps are supported?

All official maps including The Island, Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, Genesis 1 & 2, Lost Island, Fjordur, and community maps.

Why does ARK require so much RAM?

ARK loads the entire map and all entities into memory. 8GB, where plans start, suits a small vanilla server. Bigger maps like Ragnarok or 10 or more players want 10 to 12GB, and heavily modded servers 12 to 16GB.

Do players have to install the mods themselves?

No. Players download the same Steam Workshop mods automatically when they join a modded ARK: Survival Evolved server, as long as they own the game on Steam.
