What an upgrade gives you, and the reassurance that your worlds and files stay exactly where they are.
What upgrading does
Upgrading moves you to a plan with more resources, mainly more RAM (the memory your server uses to run) and often more CPU and disk space. More RAM lets you run more players at once, handle bigger worlds, and add more mods or plugins without the server struggling.
The important part: an upgrade does not wipe anything. Your worlds, files, configs, plugins and settings all stay exactly where they are. You are getting a bigger allocation for the same server, not a fresh one. Once the upgrade is done, you start it back up and everything is where you left it.
How to upgrade
You upgrade from the client area at guavahost.com/account: open the service, pick the higher RAM, and confirm. Billing is prorated, so you only pay the difference for the time left in your current cycle, and the new resources apply after a quick restart.

Troubleshooting
- Server will not start after an upgrade. Give it a moment first, as a bigger server can take a little longer to boot the first time. If it still will not start, check the Console tab in the panel for an error and send us what it says.
- Files look missing. They should not be. Double check you are looking at the same server in the panel and not a different one on your account before you worry.
- You upgraded but the extra RAM is not being used. Some games and jars need a startup setting changed to actually use the new memory. If you are unsure, ask us and we will check it for you.
