No. A single Geyser server allows both Java and Bedrock players to connect to the same world without needing two separate servers or plans.

Are Bedrock skins and cosmetics preserved?

Why does Geyser require more RAM than standard Java?

Geyser translates between two different game protocols in real time, which needs additional memory. Plans start at 2GB, which suits a few friends on a light server; 4GB is what we recommend for smooth crossplay with plugins.

Do Bedrock add-ons work on a Geyser server?

No. A Geyser server is a Java server underneath, so Bedrock behavior packs do nothing on it. Anything every player should see needs a Java plugin or datapack. Bedrock resource packs can go in Geyser's packs folder, but they only change how things look for Bedrock players.
