How many players can join an Enshrouded server?

Enshrouded currently supports up to 16 players per server. Configure your resources at checkout based on your group size and desired performance level.

How much RAM does an Enshrouded server need?

Plans start at 4GB, but we recommend 6GB for 1 to 3 players on a fresh world, because the developer puts the server at about 4.4GB with nobody online. Plan on 8GB for 4 to 8 players with a few bases, and 10 to 12GB for a busy world near the 16-player cap. Adding RAM later keeps your world exactly as it is.

How do passwords and permissions work?

Enshrouded sorts players into roles such as Admin, Friend and Guest. Each role has its own password and its own permissions, like kicking players or editing the base. Set them on the Startup tab or in enshrouded_server.json on the Files tab.

Can I change the difficulty?

Yes. Pick a difficultyPreset such as Relaxed, Default or Hard in enshrouded_server.json, then fine-tune multipliers like enemy damage or Shroud time. Stop the server before you edit the file and start it again to apply.
