How much RAM does ARK Survival Ascended need?

ARK SA is far more demanding than the original. Plans start at 12GB, which can work for a couple of players on a fresh map but leaves little headroom, so we recommend 16GB for a small group and 20 to 24GB for a populated or modded server. Adding RAM later keeps your world exactly as it is.

Are ARK SE and ARK SA saves compatible?

No. ARK SA uses a different save format from ARK SE. Save transfers between the two versions are not officially supported.

How do I install mods on ARK: Survival Ascended?

ASA mods come from CurseForge. Copy each mod's numeric Project ID from curseforge.com, enter the IDs separated by commas in the mods field on the Startup tab and restart. The server downloads them on boot, and players get them automatically when they join.

How do I set the map on an ARK: Survival Ascended server?

Set it on the Startup tab using the internal map name, which on ASA ends in _WP, for example TheIsland_WP. ASA maps are released over time, so fewer are available than on ARK: Survival Evolved.
