About Terraria server hosting

Terraria is lightweight enough that it runs beautifully on even our smallest plans, making it one of our most affordable hosting options. The Pterodactyl panel gives you console access, file management, and SFTP for easy administration. All world sizes (small, medium, large), difficulties (classic, expert, master), and Journey mode are fully supported.

Common Questions

Can I run Journey mode or master difficulty?
Yes. All Terraria game modes and difficulty settings are fully supported. Configure them at world generation.
Can I upload my existing world file?
Absolutely. Upload your .wld file via SFTP or the file manager and it will be used as your server's active world.
How much RAM does a Terraria server need?
Around 2GB is comfortable for vanilla Terraria with a handful of players. A Large world uses more memory than a Small one, and player count matters less than you might expect.
Can I add mods to my Terraria server later?
Yes. Mods need tModLoader, a separate modded build of Terraria, and you can switch your server over to it instead of starting from scratch. Every player then has to launch tModLoader with the same mods to join.
