How much RAM does a Don't Starve Together server need?

A normal world is two shards, the surface and the caves, and each one wants about 1GB. That makes 2GB the honest minimum and it is our starting plan. Go to 4GB if you run a long list of Workshop mods or a big group, which is the tier most modded servers settle on.

Do I need a Klei cluster token?

Yes, and it is free. Sign in at accounts.klei.com, open Game Servers, generate a token and paste it into the Klei cluster token field on the Startup tab of your game panel. The server will not start without one. Our setup guide has the steps.

Are the caves included?

Yes. Your server runs the surface and the caves as a two-shard cluster, each with its own port, which is what makes sinkholes work. Some hosts sell a surface-only server and charge extra for caves; we do not.

Can I install Workshop mods?

Yes. Add the mod IDs to dedicated_server_mods_setup.lua and their settings to modoverrides.lua, both editable from the panel. Remember that mods have to be enabled on both shards.
