You can cancel a GuavaHost server yourself from the client area at guavahost.com/account, and you get to choose whether it stops right away or at the end of the period you have already paid for.
Before you cancel
Cancelling frees up the server and, eventually, deletes its files, so take a moment first:
- Open the Backups tab and create a snapshot, then download anything you want to keep.
- Remember the 48-hour money-back guarantee. If you ordered within the last two days and want your money back, ask support for a refund rather than a plain cancellation.
- If cost is the issue, consider downgrading your RAM instead. Every plan is configurable, so a smaller server might be all you need.
- Running more than one server? Cancelling one does not touch the others; each service is cancelled on its own.
How to request cancellation
There is no need to email us or wait around; the whole thing takes under a minute.
- Log in at guavahost.com/account.
- Open Services and then My Services.
- Click the server you want to cancel.
- Choose Request Cancellation from the management actions.
- Pick when it should stop (see below) and add a short reason if you like; it helps us improve.
- Submit the request. You will get a confirmation email.
Immediate or end of billing period
When you request cancellation you choose one of two timings:
- End of billing period: your server keeps running until the time you already paid for runs out, then it stops and does not renew. This is the safe default, since you lose nothing you have paid for.
- Immediate: your server is stopped and scheduled for termination shortly after you submit. Only pick this once you have saved everything, because your files go with it.
Saving your files first
The surest way to keep your world or configs is to grab them before the server is gone:
- Create a snapshot on the Backups tab.
- For a copy on your own computer, open the Settings tab for your SFTP details and connect with a free client like FileZilla (SFTP is a secure way to move files between your computer and your server).
- Download your world folder, plugins, and any configs you care about.
Changed your mind
Cancellations are not always final. If you scheduled an end-of-period cancellation, you can usually withdraw it before that date by opening a support ticket. And if you cancelled a server you ordered less than 48 hours ago, you may still qualify for a full refund under the money-back guarantee, so reach out and ask.
