Can't log in? Reset your password and other fixes

Reset a forgotten GuavaHost password, fix a reset link that expired, and get past lockouts, social sign-in errors and sessions that keep expiring.

Can't get into your GuavaHost account? Most of the time a password reset fixes it in a couple of minutes. This guide covers the reset itself, what to do when the link has expired, and the other usual suspects: sign-in lockouts, accounts made with Google, Discord or GitHub, and sessions that keep timing out.

One account for everything

Your GuavaHost account is the same everywhere: the client area at guavahost.com/account, checkout, and the game panel at panel.guavahost.com all use the same email and password (or the same Google, Discord or GitHub sign-in). Old billing.guavahost.com client area links send you to guavahost.com/account. So a password reset fixes all of them at once.

Reset your password

  1. Go to guavahost.com/account/login and click Forgot your password? (the game panel's sign-in page has the same link).
  2. Enter the email address on your account and click Send reset link.
  3. You will see Check your email. Open the email from GuavaHost with the subject Reset your GuavaHost password and click Reset your password.
  4. On the page that opens, enter a New password of at least 8 characters and type it again in Confirm new password.
  5. Click Update password. When you see Password updated, click Continue to sign in and sign in with your new password.

A few details worth knowing:

  • The link lasts one hour and works once. If you open an old or used link you will see "This link is invalid or expired". Click Request a new link and start again.
  • Only the newest link works. Asking for another link cancels the earlier ones, so if you requested several, use the most recent email.
  • Resetting signs you out elsewhere. Changing your password ends sessions on your other devices, which is exactly what you want if you think someone else had your password.

The reset email never arrived

The page shows the same "Check your email" message whether or not the address has an account. That is deliberate, so nobody can use the form to find out who is a customer. If nothing arrives:

  • Check spam, junk and promotions folders, and search your inbox for "GuavaHost".
  • Check the spelling of the email you typed.
  • Try other addresses you use. The account might be under an older email, or under the email your Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link wallet shared if you used fast checkout.
  • Wait a few minutes before asking again. Too many requests for one email in a short time returns "Too many requests. Please try again in a few minutes."

"Those login details don't match an account"

This means the email and password did not match, and it is worded that way on purpose so it never reveals whether an account exists. Check for typos, caps lock and an autofilled old password, then try a reset.

After five wrong passwords for the same email within about 15 minutes, sign-in pauses and shows "Too many attempts. Please try again in a few minutes." Waiting clears it, and a successful sign-in resets the count.

You signed up with Google, Discord or GitHub

If you created your account with one of those buttons, it has no password you know. Use the same button again instead of the email form. If you would like a password as well, either use Forgot your password? with that account's email, or sign in with the button and set one under Account settings in Password & security.

If the button says an account with this email already exists, your GuavaHost account was made with email and password. Sign in with those, then connect the provider in Account settings under Connected sign-ins. Sign in with Google, Discord or GitHub explains every message you might see.

You paid with Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link

Fast checkout creates your account without a password, then emails a link to set one to the address your wallet shared. Until you use it, there is no password to sign in with. Follow Set your password after an express checkout.

You keep being signed out

  • A message that your session expired. Sessions end after a while for your safety, and when your password changes. Just sign in again and you will land back on the page you were on.
  • Remembered sign-in. On your own device, GuavaHost keeps you signed in between visits for up to about a week of inactivity. If you are asked to sign in every single time, check that your browser is not clearing cookies for guavahost.com, and remember private or incognito windows forget you when closed.
  • Signed out everywhere. Someone on the account may have used Sign out of all devices, or the password was changed.

Can't get into the game panel only

If the client area works but the panel does not, see Logging in to the game panel. The quickest route is the Game Panel button on guavahost.com while you are signed in, which signs you into the panel automatically.
