How to Connect to Your RuneScape: Dragonwilds Server
Dragonwilds players find a server by searching its world name on the Public tab of the Worlds screen, so the name you set in the panel is the name your friends type.

Find your world name
- Sign in at customer.guavahost.com, open My servers and click Manage on your Dragonwilds server. (Getting around your new control panel has a quick tour.)
- Go to the Settings tab and find Startup settings.
- Look at World Name. That is the exact text people search for.
- Note it down with the capital letters as they appear. The search is case sensitive.
While you are there, check Server Name too. That is the label the server reports for itself across every world it runs, and it is what you will see once you are in. Server Password is the password players are asked for when they join.
If you change any of these, click Save next to the field, then press Restart at the top of the server page. The panel writes the startup settings into the game's config file each time the server starts.
Join the world
- Launch RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
- Open the Worlds screen from the main menu.
- Switch to the Public tab.
- Search for your world name, typed exactly.
- Select it and connect. Enter the server password when asked.
The first time a brand new server starts it has to generate its world, which takes a minute or two. Watch the Console tab in the control panel and wait until it settles before you search.
If it does not appear
- Check the server is actually running. Its status at the top of the server page should say Online; if it says Offline, press Start and watch the Console.
- Search the world name exactly, capitals included. A world called Gielinor will not turn up for a search of gielinor.
- Give it a moment after startup. The world has to finish generating and register itself before it is listed.
- If you changed World Name recently, restart the server so the change is picked up.
There is more on this in Dragonwilds server not showing or won't connect.
The join code
Your server also prints a short join code, like SLMG-4SPE, when it starts. It is in the Console tab on the line that mentions JoinCode, and it changes when the server restarts. If a friend cannot find your world in the search, the code is the quickest way to get them in. Searching by world name is still the route to use day to day, because the code does not survive a restart.
Steam invites
Steam invites do not currently connect the way you would expect in Dragonwilds. Use the Public tab and the world name search instead, which is the route Jagex supports for dedicated servers.
Your address, for reference
The control panel shows your server's IP and port at the top of every server page, next to a copy button, and in the Ports & network card on the Overview tab. Dragonwilds uses UDP, and the port we assign is the one your server actually listens on, so do not assume 7777 even though that is the game's default. You will not usually need the address to join, but our support team will ask for it.
