Hytale server hosting on GuavaHost: what you get
What comes with a GuavaHost Hytale server, the settings you control in the panel, where it can run and how to order one.

This guide covers what comes with a GuavaHost Hytale server, which settings you control from the panel, where your server can run and how to order one. If you already have a server, the setup guides are linked at the bottom.
What every Hytale plan includes
Your server runs the official Hytale dedicated server, the Java server software Hypixel Studios publishes for community servers. Every plan comes with:
- AMD Ryzen and Intel processors with NVMe SSD storage.
- DDoS protection at no extra cost.
- The GuavaHost control panel at customer.guavahost.com, with a live Console, a Files manager plus SFTP access, one-click Backups, Scheduled tasks for automatic restarts and Startup settings for the server options described below.
- Room for mods, plugins and custom game modes.
- 24/7 support and a 48-hour money-back guarantee.
Plans are configurable rather than fixed tiers. Hytale plans start at 8GB of RAM (the memory your server uses while it runs), and you choose how much you want at checkout. You can raise or lower it later from Manage plan in the control panel, and the change is prorated. For current prices, see the Hytale game page.
What you need before you start
Hytale ties every server to a Hytale account. The first time your server starts, it asks you to approve it with a Hytale account that owns the game, using a short code shown in the console. It takes a few minutes and you normally only do it once. Start your Hytale server and authenticate it walks you through every step.
The options in Startup settings
Open your server in the panel, go to the Settings tab and find Startup settings. Each option has its own Save button, and changes take effect the next time the server starts.
| Option | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Auth Mode | authenticated | authenticated checks every player's Hytale account. offline skips those checks and is meant for testing, not for a server open to the internet. |
| Patchline | release | Which build of Hytale to run: the normal release, or pre-release for early builds of upcoming updates. |
| Allow operators | Off | Starts the server with --allow-op, which lets a player make themselves operator (admin) from in game. Turn it on only while you set yourself up. |
| Accept Early Plugins | Off | Lets the server load early plugins, a low-level kind of plugin that Hytale warns is unsupported. |
| Use Ahead-of-Time Cache | On | Uses the ahead-of-time (AOT) cache that ships with the server, which makes startup noticeably faster. |
| Disable Sentry | Off | Stops the server sending crash reports to Sentry, the crash tracker Hytale uses. Mainly useful while developing plugins. |
| Install Source Query plugin | On | Adds a small plugin to your mods folder that answers Source Query requests (player count, server name) from server list sites. |
| Source Query Port | Empty | The port that plugin answers on. Left empty, it uses your game port plus one. |
The amount of memory Java may use is set for you from your plan's RAM, so there are no memory flags to edit. When you change your RAM, a restart is all it takes for the server to use it.
Updates are automatic
Hytale is in Early Access and updates often. Each time your server starts, it checks for a newer build on your chosen patchline and downloads it before booting, so a restart after a Hytale patch is usually all you need to stay in step with your players. Take a backup before big updates, especially if you run mods, since a mod built for an older version can stop working after an update.
Where your server can run
You choose a location at checkout. GuavaHost hosts in:
- Dallas, United States (also the closest option for South America)
- Limburg, Germany
- Gravelines, France
- Warsaw, Poland
- Sydney, Australia
Pick the one closest to most of your players, since distance is what drives ping. If your group changes and you need to move later, see Changing your server region. Moving gives your server a new IP and port, so share the new address afterwards.
How to order
- Open the Hytale game page and start your order, or go straight to checkout.
- Choose your RAM and location, then pay.
- Your server is created automatically. Sign in at customer.guavahost.com, open My servers and click Manage on your Hytale server.
- Press Start at the top of the server page, then follow the first start guide below on the Console tab to download Hytale and authenticate the server.
If the server is not what you expected, the 48-hour money-back guarantee has you covered. See the refund guide for how it works.
