How to Connect to Your Don't Starve Together Server

Find your server in the in-game browser, or connect straight to its address from the console. Both take a few seconds.

Your server's name and address are both in your control panel. Sign in at customer.guavahost.com, open My servers and click Manage on your Don't Starve Together server.

Through the browser

1. Launch Don't Starve Together.
2. Choose Browse Games.
3. Search for your server name in the search box.
4. Select it, enter the password if you set one, and join.

Your server name is the Server name field in Startup settings on the Settings tab, and the password is Server password in the same place. If you have not changed the name, it is still our default, A GuavaHost Server, which is not unique, so give it a name of your own before you send friends looking. After changing either one, click Save next to it and press Restart at the top of the server page.

Turn off the filters if it does not appear. The browser hides servers that do not match your current settings, and a mod filter or a region filter will hide yours.

Straight to the address

Faster and more reliable, especially on a busy browser list.

1. Copy the IP and port from the top of your server page with the copy button, or from Server address in the Ports & network card on the Overview tab.
2. In game, press the backtick key to open the console.
3. Type c_connect("IP", PORT) with your own values, for example c_connect("1.2.3.4", 5012).
4. If you set a password, use c_connect("IP", PORT, "password").

Press Enter and you will connect. This is the address of the surface shard, which is the one you always join first.

A note on the caves

You do not connect to the caves directly. You join the surface, and the game moves you to the caves shard when you go down a sinkhole. That second connection happens on its own, on the caves port, which you can see as Caves port in Startup settings and under Other ports in the Ports & network card on Overview. Before anyone can join

A new server will not start until you have added a Klei cluster token in Startup settings. If the Console shows Your Server Will Not Start, that is the reason. Getting your Klei cluster token takes about a minute.

First start takes a while

A brand new server generates two worlds, the surface and the caves, before anyone can join. Give it a couple of minutes and watch the Console tab. The panel may show the server as online before the world is ready, which is normal.
