Which games can a Multi-Game Server run?
A Multi-Game Server can be reinstalled as any of the games we host, and the panel shows the current set when you go to change it. This guide explains where that list comes from, what decides whether a game is available to you, and what a switch does to the game you are leaving.

The list lives in the panel, not in this guide
The honest answer to "which games can it run" is: the games GuavaHost sells, which is a set that grows and occasionally changes. Any list written down here would be out of date the next time we add one.
Two places always show the truth:
- Your panel. Sign in at customer.guavahost.com, open My servers, click Manage on your Multi-Game Server, and under Configure choose Change game. The games you can switch to are listed there, with your current one marked.
- Our games page. Everything we host, with a page per game.
If a game is on the games page, a Multi-Game Server can normally be installed as it. The panel is the final word, because it also accounts for your own plan and server.
At the time of writing the set runs to seventeen entries, which covers both Minecraft editions and a Geyser crossplay setup, the big survival and base building games such as Rust, ARK, Palworld, Valheim, Enshrouded and Project Zomboid, lighter co-op games including Terraria, tModLoader and Don't Starve Together, and Counter-Strike 2. Some games appear twice because a modded variant is set up differently from the plain one, for example Valheim with BepInEx already in place.
What decides whether you can pick a game
Three things, in practice.
RAM. Every game has a minimum amount of memory it needs to run, and a game whose minimum is above your plan's RAM is not offered. That is the most common reason a game you expected to see is missing. Adding RAM makes it selectable, and how much RAM each game needs on a Multi-Game Server has the numbers plus a per game guide for each one.
Who you are. Only the account that owns the server can change its game, because a switch deletes every file on it. If you are a sub-user with access to someone else's server, the option is not yours to use. Ask the owner.
The state of the server. A switch cannot start while the server is installing, restoring a backup, moving to another location, or suspended. Let whatever is in progress finish, or clear the suspension, and try again.
How a switch works, in brief
You do not need to reinstall anything yourself or raise a ticket. The high level shape is:
- You pick the new game in Change game and confirm, twice, that you understand every file will be deleted.
- The server stops.
- Every file on it is deleted.
- The new game's setup is applied, including its startup settings and any extra ports it needs, such as a query or RCON port.
- The game downloads and installs, exactly as it would on a brand new server. Big games take longer than small ones.
- You start the server and watch the Console as it boots for the first time.
Switching games on a Multi-Game Server is the step by step version, including the exact confirmations and what to do if a switch will not start.
You can switch each server up to six times in twenty four hours. That is generous for normal use and tight enough that you cannot accidentally thrash a server through five games before a session.
What happens to the game you are leaving
This is the part to be clear about, because it surprises people: nothing from the old game is kept on the server. The switch deletes the whole file area. Worlds, saves, character data, configs, plugins, mods, admin and whitelist files, all of it.
There is no "slot" per game. A Multi-Game Server does not park your Minecraft world somewhere while you play Rust for a month. If you want that world back, you need a copy of it from before the switch, and taking one takes about two minutes: backing up before switching your Multi-Game Server walks through the right order, what to save for each game, and how to restore it when you switch back.
Backups themselves are not deleted by a switch. They sit outside the server's files, so the list survives. A backup only works on the game it was made on, though, so the route back is: switch to that game, then restore.
What a switch does not change
- Your address and main port. Players connect to the same place, which means you do not have to send round a new IP every time your group changes game. Finding your server IP and port covers the extra ports some games add.
- Your plan. The RAM, location, billing cycle and price are all untouched. A switch is not an order.
- Your backups. As above, they stay.
- Your sub-users and their access. The server is the same server.
Two things do change that are easy to miss: admin and RCON passwords are regenerated on every switch, so the old ones stop working, and the extra ports in use depend on the new game. Both are visible in the panel, with the passwords under Startup settings on the Settings tab.
If the game you want is not there
Pick the closest thing and tell us what you were after. We add games regularly, and what customers ask for is most of how that list gets decided. Our team is online 24/7 in Discord, and a quick message with the game name is genuinely useful to us.
If you are still choosing and not sure a Multi-Game Server is the right shape at all, choosing your first game and plan compares picking one game against keeping the option open. The short version: a single game server is the simpler choice if you know what you want to play, and a Multi-Game Server earns its keep when your group's answer to "what are we playing this month" keeps changing.
Common questions
Can a Multi-Game Server run two games at once?
No. It runs one game at a time and is reinstalled as a different game when you switch, so the whole plan's RAM goes to whichever game is currently installed. Two games at the same time means two servers.
Where do I see the exact list of games my server can switch to?
In the panel, under Configure then Change game on your Multi-Game Server. That view reflects both the current set of games we host and your own plan's RAM, so it is more accurate than any list written elsewhere.
Does my server address change when I switch games?
No. Your address and main port stay the same through a switch, so players can keep the same entry saved. Some games add extra ports for queries or RCON, and those are shown in the panel after the switch.
Can I get my old world back after switching?
Only from a backup taken before the switch, because the files themselves are deleted permanently. Switch the server back to that game first, then restore the backup, since a backup only matches the game it was made on.
