Un server de 7 Days to Die are două lucruri care îi prind pe oameni pe picior greșit, și amândouă sunt aici, primele. Unul sunt porturile: jocul folosește discret încă trei pe lângă adresa pe care o dai jucătorilor, așa că un server poate arăta perfect sănătos și tot să nu lase pe nimeni să intre. Celălalt este locul unde stau setările, pentru că de la actualizarea V3.0 butoanele de dificultate, loot și blood moon au ieșit din fișierul serverului și au intrat într-un cod pe care îl generezi chiar în joc.

Începe cu conectarea, apoi cu ghidul de setări de server, care le acoperă pe amândouă și explică fișierul în care îți sunt ținute setările. După aceea urmează treaba obișnuită de a rula un server: cât RAM să cumperi, cât de mare să faci lumea, instalarea modurilor de mână, pentru că acest joc nu are magazin de moduri, și comenzile de consolă din spatele tabului Players.
