To join your GuavaHost Vein server, copy the IP and port from your panel, open Vein, and use the multiplayer direct-connect option to enter that address.
Get your server address
Your Vein server's address is the IP and port shown at the top of your server view in the GuavaHost panel. Copy it exactly as shown, and use the Network tab if you want to confirm the port. Because the port varies from server to server, always use the number your panel gives you rather than guessing a default.
Open the Console tab and check that the server is running before you try to join. Vein servers on GuavaHost set up instantly, so a new order is usually online within seconds of ordering.
Join from the multiplayer menu
- Launch Vein from Steam and wait for the main menu.
- Open the Multiplayer menu.
- Choose the direct connect option, the one that lets you type a server address instead of picking from a browser list.
- Enter your address in IP:port form, exactly as it appears in the panel.
- If you set a server password, enter it when asked.
- Connect and wait for the world to load.
If Vein shows an in-game server browser, a direct IP connect is still the most reliable way to reach a private server, since browser lists can be slow to refresh.
Invite your group
Everyone joins with the same address, so send friends the IP:port string and, if the server is private, the password. Vein is a co-op survival game at heart, so a small trusted group usually works best. You choose your server location at checkout (United States, Europe, United Kingdom, Poland, Australia, or South America on our Miami node) and can change it later from the client area, so pick the region closest to most of your group for the lowest ping.
If you cannot connect
- Re-copy the address from the panel top bar. A wrong port is the usual culprit.
- Confirm the server is fully started in the Console, not still booting or stopped.
- Check that your game version matches the server. Vein is in active development, so after a Steam update you should update the server from the Startup tab and restart before rejoining.
- Restart the server from the panel if it was online but stopped responding.
- You do not need to forward ports or change your firewall. Every GuavaHost server includes free DDoS protection and is reachable on its public address out of the box.
As a newer game, Vein patches often, so a version mismatch right after an update is the most common reason a connection fails. Line up both sides on the same build and try again.
